Best Printed Collateral

The Village of Tinley Park Farmers Market

The Village of Tinley Park Farmers Market is recognized for Best Printed Collateral, celebrating a highly effective marketing effort designed to reach residents where they are. With a goal of increasing community awareness and market visibility, the team designed a flyer that was included in the community water bill mailing. This method ensured it reached as many Tinley Park households as possible. This simple but powerful distribution method delivered great results. When comparing attendance against the previous two years, the market saw an impressive 66% increase in visitors. The flyer not only captured attention but successfully connected residents with the weekly market offering children’s programming, live entertainment, and community partnerships. By meeting residents directly at home with clear, engaging print collateral, the Tinley Park Farmers Market strengthened community engagement and brought thousands more neighbors to the market.

Best Farmers Market Special Event or Celebration

Mount Sterling Farmers Market

Mount Sterling Farmers Market is recognized for Best Farmers Market Special Event or Celebration for its $5 Food Voucher Program. This initiative demonstrated the power of community partnership and local food accessibility. In collaboration with the local Farm Bureau and the Two Rivers Regional Council Food Bank, the market launched a program aimed at reducing cost barriers for low-income families, particularly the 13% of Brown County residents who receive SNAP benefits. The program distributed 140 printed vouchers, worth $5 each, directly to families experiencing food insecurity. Of these, 25 vouchers were redeemed during the market season, an encouraging first-year result that laid the groundwork for future expansion. Vendors embraced the program enthusiastically, accepting vouchers as cash and receiving smooth reimbursement through the Farm Bureau. This initiative not only increased access to fresh, locally grown produce but it reinforced the market’s mission to build an inclusive, community-centered environment where all families can enjoy nutritious food and support local growers.
