National CSA Week!
Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) was at the cutting edge as consumer interest in buying food directly from local farmers started to build. True believers eagerly subscribed to receive CSA boxes from their favorite farms, ensuring that they would enjoy the products they love while providing the farmers with cash to cover costs of growing that food.

ILFMA 2022 Winter Farmers Market
Winter is a great time to continue shopping at your favorite farmers market, and/or maybe plan a trip to one that’s new to you!
Many farmers markets across Illinois operate in the winter months. Farmers are employing practices that help extend their growing season, allowing them to bring leafy greens, lettuces, and microgreens to market year round. You’ll often find cold storage fruits and vegetables too. Fresh eggs, meat and poultry, cheese and other dairy products are available all year, and baked goods and other prepared treats know no season! You might be lucky enough to browse through goods made by local artisans and crafters too.
