Many farmers markets across Illinois continue through the winter months. Farmers are employing practices that help extend their growing season, allowing them to bring leafy greens, lettuces, and microgreens to market year round. You’ll often find cold storage fruits and vegetables too. Fresh eggs, meat and poultry, cheese and other dairy products are available all year, and baked goods and other prepared treats know no season! You might be lucky enough to browse through goods made by local artisans and crafters too.
